The study on the media coverage of motorsport in Colombia reveals an alarming lack of attention and quality in the coverage of this sport. This results in brief and superficial articles, with little depth, where regionalism even overshadows the sports aspect. Despite the significant achievements that motorsport has brought to the country, such as the case of Juan Pablo Montoya, most articles are scattered across non-sports sections and lack a specialized focus. This situation limits public interest and the visibility of athletes. The findings underscore the need for greater investment in the media coverage of motorsport, which could contribute to the development of new talents and greater recognition of the sport in Colombia. Similarly, it can be seen how not only editorial decisions but also economic factors affect sports journalism and the coverage of sports.
