abstract

  • Introduction: The San Ignacio University Hospital is an institution with a long history in the health sector, it was founded in 1942 in order to generate a field of training, practices and research for the Faculty of Medicine of the Javeriana University, with a social purpose, to be able to welcome the population of scarce resources and with it, to generate the opportunity to cover the health needs in the country, with ethical, human and social commitment. The institution is going to implement a project that aims to provide a sufficient consultation tool to access information easily and effectively, generating immediate solutions, improving response time and optimizing resources, conserving useful life of the equipment, improving the techniques of use and proper handling of the equipment by the healthcare personnel, in addition, having the digitization of the necessary documentation for each equipment, making the information easy and accessible to all the personnel of the Hospital that requires it. Objective: The objective of this project is to design and implement instructions on the management of recurrent failures, proper use of biomedical equipment, evaluation and updating of rapid guides in obstetric gynecology services, surgery rooms and newborn units through digital tools. Methodology: The development of the project was divided into four phases: information gathering, design and organization, implementation and validation, for the execution a process was elaborated, in order to carry out a coherent sequence to approach the project, there is a return of design and organization validation, since at the time of the initial validation the point of view and the recommendations made by the healthcare personnel will be taken into account in order to achieve an optimal result. The first phase corresponds to the collection and investigation of the relevant information to tackle the project. In the second phase, the instructional template for failures and training for proper use was generated, as well as all the information obtained, which has been verified and implemented in the user interface of the digital tool. In the third phase, the tool was implemented in the selected computers and finally the validation was carried out in order to demonstrate the performance parameters, generate a high degree of confidence and security of the results obtained when applying the new information access tool . Results: The results obtained in the process are presented, taking graphic examples, of how the design and organization of the project were covered, in this section you will find the data obtained in the different surveys represented by means of a bar graph in order to generate a Better visualization, it also shows the process of design and implementation of QR codes and its user interface. Finally, a statistical analysis is shown to determine if the tool that was implemented has significant changes. Conclusion: From the development of the activities for the implementation of this project it was concluded that this tool contains great potential which can be projected with a wide scope to the different departments of the hospital, since at the time of implementing the tool it was digitized and I centralize three important parameters to have a good use of technology, in addition to minimizing the consumption of paper and time for the organization and compliance with the accreditation standards of the equipment such as the location of quick guides and conducting training for personnel.
