abstract

  • In this work, historiography is understood as the study of historical thought, that is, a kind of detailed historical-epistemological and social critical analysis of intellectual production that tells and explains the history of a specific topic or problem, in this case that of the history of Nursing in Colombia. When carrying out a review of the different works on the history of Nursing produced in Colombia, it becomes evident that they are written by professionals from different disciplines, such as Medicine, Nursing, Sociology and Anthropology. Each of these works not only bears the bias of the discipline from which it originates, but is also built from different theoretical-methodological approaches. This Historiographical study aims to elucidate these biases and approaches, as a starting point, or platform, for future research that allows, based on the contributions made by these previous works and the criticism of their theoretical-methodological positions, to build a new History of Nursing in Colombia, in depth, from more current theoretical-methodological perspectives, which allow us to overcome these perspectives, some already out of fashion and others still hegemonic in the History of Colombian Nursing.
