abstract

  • Sexual education is essential for the optimal development of the physical and mental health of children and adolescents; however, this has been influenced by the religious and political thoughts of educational institutions or is simply absent from the curriculum. The purpose of this work is to design a virtual educational tool with a focus on four of the sexual and reproductive rights established by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) based on a documentary analysis and the judgments of students between 18 and 23 years of age from the School of Human Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario, about the sexual education that was taught to them during their school years. This was carried out through an investigation divided into two parts. On one hand, six semi-structured interviews and one focus group were carried out and, on the other, a documentary analysis was carried out. As a result, “Dare to Desire” is designed, a website with sexual information and sexual and reproductive rights, which empowers children, adolescents and young adults to make informed and responsible decisions about their health.
