For healthcare providers, the development of scheduled activities such as preventive maintenance and calibrations is essential. The main purpose of these activities is to avoid any adversities when using the equipment, but it is also important to carry them out so the span of the equipment doesn’t decrease. Within the scheduled activities, the biomedical equipment is evaluated to make sure that it is functioning correctly. Predictive changes of some components of the equipment are carried out which could potentially present technical failures. Likewise, it is important to encourage and emphasize to clinical staff the correct use of the equipment in order to avoid any technical failures during the use of the equipment.In the Hospital Universitario Mayor de Mederi and the Hospital Universitario Barrios Unidos, the biomedical technology is considered a fundamental pillar to health care sector, which is why it is extremely important for the institution to carry out these scheduled activities in a timely manner. For this reason, a desktop tool is designed to manage the scheduled activities of the equipment that is commonly used within the institution. This tool was made using Excel, but more specifically Visual Basic Tool, which made it possible to create a user friendly interface. This user-friendly interface was aimed to be used by personnel in charge of maintaining the different equipment and the health care workers within the institution. This interface allows you to save and display information on scheduled activities, in which the information derives from the service manuals of each biomedical equipment. The use of the interface can generate a positive impact for the maintenance personnel when carrying out scheduled activities, while at the same time have the healthcare workers use the equipment correctly.
