¿Pueden los créditos condonables mejorar las tasas de graduación en educación superior en población muy vulnerable? Efectos de programas de créditos-beca para la población víctima del conflicto
Thesis
This paper evaluates the impact of the forgivable credit program - Fund for the Reparation of Victims of the Armed Conflict - on the victim population in Colombia. The assignment of the forgivable credit is used as an instrumental variable to determine the causal effect of the program on the graduation of students characterized as victims of the armed conflict. The evaluation found a positive and significant effect of the program between 18.3 and 23.4 percentage points on the probability of graduation of students from the program. These results are robust to covariates that are unbalanced to the treatment group, control, and categories closer to the selection threshold. Results are similar to those obtained with a fuzzy RD.
