abstract

  • This analysis is relevant considering that investment in the region has focused on extractive industries which could deepen the water crisis, and that investment will have a critical role in its solution in the following decades. The conclusion of this analysis is that collision exists due to the fragmentation to international law, meaning that the regimes of human rights and investment do not dialogue sufficiently. Thus, the dissertation offers substantive and institutional strategies to facilitate the harmonization of both regimes.
