The need to have conclusive information that determines the number of times that, in a medical institution, a patient with limited mobility or in a state of unconsciousness must be repositioned, for the prevention of pressure ulcers, has led to the need for apply monitoring technologies for related problems. Consequently, the objective of this project is to design an information acquisition system related to the frequency of changes in the body movements of the adult population in a decubitus position during sleep, which incorporates an Internet of Things (IoT) system. It is carried out based on a qualitative systematic review of the devices that intervene in the monitoring and acquisition of data, highlighting related characteristics of design, communication and acquisition, which will be implemented in the architecture of the system based on accelerometer-gyroscope. In this way, structuring the elements and programming related to the IoT system validates the operation of the electronic tool, through control and security tests regarding acquisition and operation in the applied environment. For this, to evaluate the system in a preliminary way in healthy adults in sleep period. A preliminary device will be obtained, with robust design parameters that identify the frequency of movement of people while they sleep. The design of the electronic system will not directly intervene in hospital care processes, but it will corroborate variables that intervene in the area; the system that integrates the Internet of Things (IoT) architecture acquires information about the movement that an adult person performs in a recumbent position during the dream. The device has different design requirements, the most important is the portability and the protection it must have, since the system will be implemented to study physical activity in individuals, this requires that the portable device have high interaction with the human body and its conditions environmental. To create security, a strict flow of controlled activities will be carried out to establish ranges of protection and reliability of the information obtained. In addition to the most important scope for the study, which is to design a device that determines the basis for an optimization pathway for patient prevention processes during hospitalization in Colombia.
