This article aims to reflect on education in light of the aesthetic-political thought of the French thinker Jacques Rancière. Through his ideas, it seeks to argue that education is inherently marked by an unavoidable contradiction, and that, thanks to a more precise understanding of this contradiction, one can grasp its inherent political nature. The challenge of the article, therefore, consists in elucidating the context from which to reflect on education (democratic societies) and, secondly, in developing a sufficient understanding of the notion of contradiction according to the French author's thought, which allows for comprehending the, if you will, paradoxical nature of education.
