The role of victims in the Colombian criminal process has gained importance in recent years thanks to jurisprudential and legislative advances in this regard. The truth is that the guarantee of victims' rights is a long-range career, and the search for this objective requires rigorous academic research and serious legislative and jurisprudential initiatives. This text examines the mechanisms of early termination of the legal process, such as plea agreements, admission of guilt, dismissal, and preclusion. Within each mechanism, an analysis is conducted not only of its functioning but also of how the rights of victims to truth, justice, and reparation could be compromised.
