Este estudio analiza el fenómeno de alternancia en la presidencia de Argentina durante 2015, 2019 y 2023, centrado en la tensión entre voto castigo e identidades políticas en las segundas vueltas presidenciales. La investigación responde a la pregunta: ¿qué dinámicas políticas han facilitado la alternancia entre kirchnerismo y antikirchnerismo en estos tres años? Se plantean dos hipótesis: 1) la existencia de dos bloques estables con identidades políticas fuertes y un voto castigo que equilibra la elección; y 2) un cambio en la sociología electoral hacia un voto menos identitario y dinámicas de castigo sistemático contra los incumbentes, lo que conlleva grandes desplazamientos de voto entre bloques. Para comprobar estas hipótesis, se analizan las diferencias de voto entre los bloques kirchnerista y antikirchnerista en los periodos 2015-2019 y 2019-2023, resultados que se matizan mediante un análisis de clúster a nivel de secciones electorales.
This study analyzes the phenomenon of alternation in the presidency of Argentina during 2015, 2019, and 2023, focusing on the tension between the punishment vote and political identities in the presidential runoffs of these three years. The research addresses the question: what political dynamics have facilitated alternation between kirchnerism and anti-kirchnerism in these years? Two hypotheses are proposed: 1) the existence of two stable blocks with strong political identities and a punishment vote that balances the election; and 2) a shift in electoral sociology towards a less identity-driven vote and systematic punishment dynamics against incumbents, leading to significant shifts in voter support between blocks. To test these hypotheses, differences in the vote between the kirchnerist and anti-kirchnerist blocks in the 2015-2019 and 2019-2023 periods are analyzed, with results further nuanced through cluster analysis at the electoral district level.
