Positions

I am Carolina Saldarriaga Cardona, a Colombian architect with a degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. I hold a Master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Design from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and earned a Ph.D. in Urban and Territorial Studies from the Faculty of Architecture at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. My doctoral dissertation, Territorial Expressions of Grieving in Bajo Atrato: Why Are Emotions Important for the Territory?, was recognized with honors. My work centers on developing projects and research that explore transdisciplinary approaches to rethinking architecture and its role in the cultural and emotional transformation of territories. I am particularly interested in practices that engage memory, collective care, and the affective dimensions of spatial experience. My built projects; together with research, travels, and drawings; are deeply connected to my role as a professor at the Faculty of Creative Studies at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, where I lead and collaborate on initiatives with a strong social and territorial impact.
