En muchas situaciones se requiere analizar información textual para responder preguntas. Cuando esto no se puede realizar mediante la similitud entre la pregunta y algún fragmento del texto, es necesario realizar razonamientos de sentido común con base en información del dominio para inferir una respuesta posible. En este contexto, resulta muy relevante contar con una herramienta que pueda responder dichas preguntas de forma automática. Por ejemplo:Texto: Juan y Pablo tomaron un avión de Bogotá a Cartagena. El avión hizo una escala en Medellín, en donde Juan fue arrestado.Preguntas: ¿Dónde está Pablo al final de este viaje? ¿Dónde está Juan al final de este viaje? ¿Dónde está el avión al final de este viaje? ¿Dónde estaría Juan si no hubiera sido arrestado?
In many situations it is required to analyze textual information to answer questions. When this cannot be done by means of the similarity between the question and some fragment of the text, it is necessary to make common sense reasoning based on information from the domain to infer a possible answer. In this context, it is very relevant to have a tool that can answer such questions automatically. For instance:Text: Juan and Pablo took a plane from Bogotá to Cartagena. The plane made a stopover in Medellín, where Juan was arrested.Questions: Where is Paul at the end of this trip? Where is John at the end of this trip? Where is the plane at the end of this trip? Where would John be if he had not been arrested?
