False memory across linguistic variants of Spanish

Con el fin de realizar estudios de memorias falsas en Colombia, venimos realizando desde hace 3 años estudios de asociación libre con participantes colombianos. Con esos datos, crearemos listas DRM adecuadas para su aplicación con participanes colombianos. Nuestro experimento comparará los niveles de falsas memorias de participantes colombianos y españoles ante listas creadas en su misma variante o en una variante diferente. Manipularemos el tipo de codificación que emplearán los participantes. Esperamos encontrar resultados que muestren niveles de memorias falsas significativamente diferentes cuando se emplean unos y otros materiales, lo que abre la puerta a una línea interesante de investigación una explorada hasta ahora.
In order to carry out studies of false memories in Colombia, we have been carrying out free association studies with Colombian participants for the last 3 years. With these data, we will create DRM lists suitable for its application with Colombian participants. Our experiment will compare the levels of false memories of Colombian and Spanish participants against lists created in the same variant or in a different variant. We will manipulate the type of coding that the participants will use. We hope to find results that show significantly different levels of false memories when using one or the other material, which opens the door to an interesting line of research explored so far.
