Con el ánimo de reactivar la línea de estudios sociológicos de las religiones en el CETRE y así ahondar en el estudio del fenómeno religioso en Colombia, así como contribuir con herramientas teóricas y conocimiento empírico que le permitan al Estado formular adecuadamente sus políticas públicas sobre religión y libertad de conciencia, con el presente proyecto nos proponemos construir una caracterización de las poblaciones practicantes del budismo en Bogotá que permita comprender su situación actual y a su vez presentar una proyección del futuro mediato de esta tradición religiosa en el escenario religioso y el tejido social de la ciudad y, eventualmente, del país. Estas poblaciones y su inserción en el tejido sociorreligioso bogotano constituyen el objeto de estudio del proyecto. El problema a tratar, pues, se puede formular de la siguiente manera: tanto en el presente como en el futuro cercano, ¿cómo se integra el budismo al escenario religioso y al tejido social de Bogotá?Metodológicamente, el proyecto se articulará en tres ejes: investigación cuantitativa, entrevistas en profundidad y grupos de enfoque. Hemos localizado siete centros de práctica presentes en Bogotá asociados a diferentes escuelas budistas, con los cuales estableceremos contacto para implementar la investigación en cada uno por separado. Con ello esperamos obtener un perfil sociodemográfico de cada grupo, así como descubrir sus formas de propagación, motivos de conversión, perfiles socioeconómicos y/o culturales de los fieles). Todo ello nos permitirá establecer lineamientos para futuras investigaciones y para evaluar el posible impacto sociorreligioso del budismo en el entorno bogotano.
With the aim of reactivating the line of sociological studies of religions at CETRE and thus deepening the study of the religious phenomenon in Colombia, as well as contributing with theoretical tools and empirical knowledge that will allow the State to adequately formulate its public policies on religion and freedom of conscience, with the present project we propose to build a characterization of the populations that practice Buddhism in Bogotá that will allow us to understand their current situation and at the same time present a projection of the mediate future of this religious tradition in the religious scenario and the social fabric of the city and, eventually, of the country. These populations and their insertion in the socioreligious fabric of Bogota constitute the object of study of the project. The problem to be addressed, therefore, can be formulated as follows: both in the present and in the near future, how is Buddhism integrated into the religious scenario and the social fabric of Bogotá?Methodologically, the project will be articulated in three axes: quantitative research, in-depth interviews and focus groups. We have located seven centers of practice present in Bogotá associated with different Buddhist schools, with which we will establish contact to implement the research in each one separately. With this we hope to obtain a socio-demographic profile of each group, as well as discover their forms of propagation, reasons for conversion, socioeconomic and/or cultural profiles of the faithful). All this will allow us to establish guidelines for future research and to evaluate the possible socio-religious impact of Buddhism in the Bogotá environment.
