La desnutrición de menores de 5 años en Colombia presenta variaciones muy importantes. Departamentos como la Guajira en la costa atlántica, Chocó en la costa pacífica y los departamentos de la Orinoquia y la amazonia reportan un alto número de casos de mortalidad infantil por desnutrición. La pobreza es uno de los determinantes importantes de este fenómeno. Por otro lado, existe una coincidencia entre el mapa de los nacimientos de niños prematuros y la pobreza. Si bien estas correlaciones son conocidas no se ha hecho un análisis sistemático que tenga en cuenta la distribución espacial de los fenómenos y su relación con otras variables demográficas y socioeconómicas. Adicionalmente, no hay información sobre cómo la entrada en vigencia de la Ley María (Ley 1822 de 2017), que compensa por su tiempo a las madres de los recién nacidos prematuros, interactuó con los diferentes patrones socio-económicos. La pregunta que pretende resolver este proyecto es ¿cómo se caracteriza, en los últimos 5 años, geográfica y demográficamente la prematuridad y el BPN?
Malnutrition of children under 5 years of age in Colombia presents very important variations. Departments such as Guajira on the Atlantic coast, Chocó on the Pacific coast and the departments of Orinoquia and Amazonia report a high number of mortality children due to malnourishment. Poverty is one of the important determinants of this phenomenon. On the other hand, there is a coincidence between the map of premature births and poverty. While these correlations are known, there has been no systematic analysis that take into account the spatial distribution of the phenomena and their relationship with other variables demographic and socioeconomic. Additionally, there is no information on how the entry in The Mary Law (Law 1822 of 2017), which compensates the mothers of children for their time, is in force. preterm infants, interacted with the different socio-economic patterns. The question that this project aims to solve is how it is characterized, in the last 5 years, geographically and demographically prematurity and LBP?
