El proyecto pretende reconstituir una parte de la historia de los hospitales más importantes del Nuevo Reino de Granada, el Hospital San Juan de Dios de Santafé y el de Cartagena de Indias, con el fin de explorar cómo su dinámica se inserta en un movimiento general de reforma sanitaria de la sociedad colonial de entonces, y de explorar la manera como ellos fueron (o no) objeto de una serie de transformaciones, que se habrían instaurado a partir del siglo XVIII. The project aims to reconstitute part of the history of the most important hospitals in the New Kingdom of Granada, the Hospital San Juan de Dios de Santafé and the Hospital de Cartagena de Indias, in order to explore how their dynamics fit into a general movement of health reform in colonial society at the time, and to explore how they were (or were not) the object of a series of transformations, which would have been established from the eighteenth century onwards.
