Dado que en Colombia hay un vacío de información sobre el estado de la biodiversidad fúngica, surge la iniciativa de realizar el inventario de hongos de la estación experimental José Celestino Mutis, con el fin de conocer parte de nuestra diversidad de hongos y sus roles ecosistémicos. La estación experimental José Celestino Mutis se encuentra ubicada en el pie de monte de la cordillera Oriental a una altura sobre el nivel del mar de 1300 msnm. Esta es una ubicación privilegiada ya que permite la presencia de hongos de bosque montanos provenientes de la cordillera y bosque de tierras bajas provenientes del valle del rio Magdalena. Por esta razón se espera que la diversidad de hongos de esta zona sea alta ya que podría considerarse como una zona de transición o ecotono entre bosques montanos y bosques de tierras bajas.
Given that in Colombia there is a lack of information on the state of fungal biodiversity, the initiative to carry out the fungal inventory of the José Celestino Mutis experimental station arose, with the aim of knowing part of our fungal diversity and their ecosystemic roles. The José Celestino Mutis Experimental Station is located at the foot of the Eastern Cordillera at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level. This is a privileged location since it allows the presence of mountain forest mushrooms from the Cordillera and lowland forest from the Magdalena River valley. For this reason it is expected that the diversity of mushrooms in this zone will be high since it could be considered a transition or ecotone zone between mountain forests and lowland forests.
