La presente propuesta muestra el desarrollo de un robot en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje para niños sordos e hipoacúsicos. En este trabajo se describen los resultados de la aplicación de una estrategia educativa que utiliza el robot como ayuda y medio para motivar el proceso de aprendizaje. Una revisión inicial de la literatura y un análisis del estado del arte guiaron el diseño y la estética del robot. Además, orientó la estrategia educativa a través de tres tipos de actividades que aumentaban la dificultad en términos de comprensión de conceptos y palabras. Se obtuvieron algunas observaciones de los niños relacionadas con la estética, y de los profesores según la funcionalidad y el modo de funcionamiento de las actividades. Los resultados preliminares brindan información importante para mejorar la propuesta del robot, ajustando su desempeño en un contexto educativo.
The present proposal shows the development of a robot in the teaching-learning process for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. This paper describes the findings of implementing an education strategy using the robot as an assistance and means for motivating the learning process. An initial literature review and state of the art analysis guided the design and aesthetics of the robot. Furthermore, it guided the educational strategy through three types of activities that increased the difficulty in terms of concept and word comprehension. Some remarks were obtained from children related to esthetics, and from teachers according to the functionality and the mode of the activities functioning. Preliminary results provide important information to improve the robot proposal, adjusting its performance in an educational context.
