La condición de las personas que viven con VIH, desde la perspectiva de la infección en sí misma, se ha estudiado a nivel mundial, y es claro como la terapia antirretroviral en el tratamiento del VIH SIDA ha sido altamente efectiva para los pacientes, ha aumentado su longevidad, ha mejorado su calidad de vida y ha disminuido las complicaciones1. Si bien en Colombia se han reportado casos desde 1983, y existen investigaciones para destacar las características de la población afectada, persisten vacíos para identificar como las dinámicas sociodemográficas y la asociación de patologías acelera el envejecimiento, como se ha documentado internacionalmente. Por lo anterior, el presente estudio busca determinar la relación entre procesos fisiopatológicos, condiciones sociodemográficas y el envejecimiento, para aportar en la identificación de determinantes sociales, factores de riesgo y generar estrategias para una atención integral en salud y el mejoramiento de las condiciones de vida de personas viviendo con VIH
The condition of people living with HIV, from the perspective of the infection itself, has been studied worldwide, and it is clear how antiretroviral therapy in the treatment of HIV AIDS has been highly effective for patients, has increased their longevity, has improved their quality of life and has reduced complications1. Although cases have been reported in Colombia since 1983, and there is research to highlight the characteristics of the affected population, there are still gaps to identify how sociodemographic dynamics and the association of pathologies accelerate aging, as has been documented internationally. Therefore, this study seeks to determine the relationship between pathophysiological processes, sociodemographic conditions and aging, in order to contribute to the identification of social determinants, risk factors and generate strategies for comprehensive health care and the improvement of living conditions of people living with HIV.
