El objetivo del proyecto “Más allá del cumplimiento” es realizar un análisis de las sutilezas y los diversos niveles de cumplimiento e impacto de las sentencias de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, específicamente de las decisiones que ordenan a los Estados investigar y sancionar a los responsables de graves violaciones de derechos humanos. Dentro del marco del proyecto, se desarrollan herramientas metodológicas novedosas que buscan evaluar, tanto cuantitativa, como cualitativamente, el cumplimiento y el impacto de las decisiones de la Corte Interamericana a nivel interno. De esta manera, se complementan los esfuerzos de las instituciones interamericanas de derechos humanos que monitorean el cumplimiento de sus propias órdenes, y la literatura académica que explora el impacto de las decisiones judiciales internacionales.
The objective of the "Beyond Compliance" project is to conduct an analysis of the subtleties and varying levels of compliance and impact of the judgments of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, specifically the decisions ordering states to investigate and punish those responsible for serious human rights violations. Within the framework of the project, innovative methodological tools are being developed to evaluate, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the compliance and impact of the Inter-American Court's decisions at the domestic level. This complements the efforts of inter-American human rights institutions that monitor compliance with their own orders, and the academic literature that explores the impact of international judicial decisions.
