Despite extensive efforts by academia and affiliated organizations to broaden the conceptual understanding of peacebuilding, practical approaches in various contexts continue to diverge. These divergences are often influenced by cultural, temporal, and geographic factors. This paper seeks to address the following research question: What cross-cutting themes can be identified in peacebuilding across diverse contexts? To investigate this, a comprehensive statistical topic modeling approach was applied to news articles published in leading newspapers from Colombia, Mexico, Chile, and Peru between 2010 and 2020. The results identified six key thematic areas within the peacebuilding discourse: (1) the regional significance of the peace processes in Colombia; (2) the Catholic Church's role in promoting peacebuilding; (3) the influence of ongoing global wars and conflicts; (4) emphasis on domestic conflicts, both past and present; (5) the private sector's involvement in peacebuilding; and (6) initiatives related to the Culture of Peace and peace education.
