Professor at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia. He teaches in the Biomedical Engineering program taught in agreement with the Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito. His research areas are the development of assistive technologies for people with disabilities and the development of health applications through the Internet of Things paradigm. He is part of the RehaTek research hotbed of the Universidad del Rosario. He is the coordinator of professional practices and directing jobs for the Biomedical Engineering program. He belongs to the team of teachers that are developing the interprofessional education modules (EIPM) of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario. He currently teaches Biophysics 2 and the elective “Internet of Things: Health Applications.” He has also taught subjects such as Advanced Sensorics or Medical Informatics. In 2018 he received recognition as a distinguished professor from the Universidad del Rosario. That same year he traveled to the University of Malta thanks to the Erasmus Plus Exchange program. He taught a short course on the Internet of Things to graduate students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2019 he won the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) scholarship awarded by the Government of Canada that allowed him to carry out a research stay at the Alberta University’s Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine for six months. In 2020, the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce granted him a research patent entitled 'High Precision Trace Capture and Tracking Device' for a system that allows knowing the position of a magnet in an active matrix of hall effect sensors with a minimum resolution of 1mm. He is currently developing low-cost devices that teach Braille and sign language autonomously to people who cannot access courses offered by foundations, libraries, or the national government.
