  • The main objective of this investigation is to determine the health and risk that are present in the financial statements of the oil and natural gas extraction industry in Colombia. This will allow us to classify these companies according to these variables. The importance of the hydrocarbon energy industry in Colombian economy and its magnitude and size in world economy explain the relevance of its investigation in terms of risk and perdurability. The investigation project will be theoretically founded on the concepts of epidemiological risk and financial health, also on the use of financial ratios as measurement and base of the financial management of the enterprises in the industry. Furthermore, the methodology employed in this investigation will be quantitative, supported by models of health and epidemiology from health sciences.Finally, this investigation will contribute to the group of investigation on enterprise perdurability through the management line, providing knowledge and information from the hydrocarbon extraction sector considering the relationship between risk, financial health, and perdurability. Thus, while providing the results of this investigation, a contribution to the main objective of the management line will be achieved, this is to identify the managerial opportunities to the organization that promote its path to the denominated knowledge society.
