abstract

  • This Research framed in Knowledge and knowledge of communities and social organizations as a strategy to build territories of peace and sustainable communities (financed by Colciencias: CT-180-2019), developed by the Universidad del Rosario and the University of Ibagué. From the training experiences of coffee growers affected by relations of subordination and violence, it will be possible to delve into the role of education in a post-agreement context. To this end, this thesis covers the emergence of a coffee industry and armed actors - paramilitaries and guerrillas - in the southern corner of Tolima. Through the effects on small coffee growers and other educational negligence, it will be seen how contemporary training expertise takes precedence over the panorama of armed confrontation prior to the peace agreement signed for 2016. In this sense, the document points to the localized understanding of the problems of the Tolima coffee grower. Through an investigation that narrates the presence of coffee cultivation since times of the armed conflict, it is intended to expose the need to support current bets from the educational institution; hoping that this will awaken the interest to articulate the training processes with the productive needs of small and medium coffee growers. Thus, it would be possible to meet the budgets that accompany the territories in the Development Program with a Territorial Approach (PDET) in productive and training terms, since, thinking about the economic-agricultural policy of the southern corner of Tolima, requires making use of of the strategies and processes where coffee producers put productivity in dialogue with forms of sustainability. After all, coffee growers, environmental foundations and educational establishments are already developing training processes that aim at the transformation and sustainable use of their soils.
