abstract

  • The breakup of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was one of the most complex phenomena in the last decade of the twentieth century in Europe, and occurred in parallel with the completion of the bipolarity. In this sense, this research makes an analysis of the implications of the end of the Cold War on security patterns of the Third World, referring specifically to what happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina after its independence from the Former Yugoslavia. In particular, the overall objective of the research is to analyze the impact of the end of the Cold War in the state making process in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period 1989 – 1995, based on the theoretical assumptions of Subaltern Realism, and the State Proliferation notion.
