  • Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic disease of unknown etiology, characterized by generalized and persistent musculoskeletal pain. Recent evidence points out the involvement of the central nervous system (CNS), and central sensitization as a neurobiological basis. Caused by the complex trauma of childhood; which includes the terms of sexual abuse, physical, emotional and negligency, is considered a possible risk factor for developing fibromyalgia.
