abstract

  • The document presents a systematic review of creative economies and the new concept of orange economy, formulated by Colombian authors Felipe Buitrago and Iván Duque. The objective is to provide an analysis of the scope and quality of the term, and of the challenges involved in its future application in Colombia. The orange economy is an economy that promises to change traditional business models and generate a more specialized and dynamic industry through the creation of content. In this article an analysis of the scientific literature that provided information on the bases of the development and growth of the creative industries was carried out. The studies that were found helped to identify the main characteristics of the term orange in the Colombian context and, especially, a significant barrier imposed by intellectual property, a fundamental part of the set of opportunities that the country can exploit for the successful implementation of this economy, in terms of competitiveness, human potential and state support.
