The Conejera is the scene of a socio-environmental conflict where local populations are the protagonists in its struggle and defense. This Wetland that is the flagship of the Capital, it was there where the environmental movement was born in defense of wetlands, contains a particular struggle where new ways of understanding the conservation of these ecosystems were generated from concepts: i) legal, ii) biological and iii) territorial and historical. This way of understanding conservation is tied to a new form of mobilization and defense of spaces from environmental political actions.
