The problem of freedom has been widely discussed in Western thought. This paper seeks to analyze the concept of freedom in Islam from the hermeneutic exercise, to review some concepts and review the existing prejudices on the subject and in this way, reach a better understanding and interpretation of the complexity of the problem . This paper also takes a special consideration in its study, the political response that comes from the pen of two ideologues considered fundamentalist: Sayyid Qutb and Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
