abstract

  • Between 1960 and 1970, the introduction of new foreign comics in Colombia represented a relevant phenomenon for the rethinking of this products by having an impact on the formation of national cartoonists during the 1980s. Several authors appropriated trends, creating hybrid works with different visual and narrative elements. In addition, the strengthening of the publishing industry, based on the development of Graphic Arts, allowed the creative production of such publications to be reinvented. In this sense, the present thesis seeks to highlight the growth of the Colombian comic in 1980, considering processes of appropriation and cultural hybridization identified in the press comics. For this, a case study was proposed based on the analysis of the Sunday supplement of Los Monos de El Espectador (1981). Thus, it is affirmed that the Colombian comic since 1980 is the result of stylistic fusions facilitated by socio-economic and cultural actors immersed in an editorial device.
