abstract

  • Eating Disorders (EDs) are a group of mental disorders that complicate a person's relationship with food and their diet. This work aims to explain how these diseases behave according to the different diagnoses that can be presented, taking into account the consequences on physical and mental health. At the same time, explore the social stigmas surrounding eating disorders and the relationship they have with the design and development of public health policies for the treatment of people in Bogotá. Through interviews and literature review, their needs in terms of health and access to specialized and comprehensive services are exposed. This work responds to the need to strip stigmas that exist about mental health illnesses; in this case focusing on Eating Disorders, through the development of a multimedia special that contains infographics, a podcast and participatory journalistic research.
