abstract

  • In Foucault's theoretical framework, subjectivity is understood as an element that refers to the experience of the subject responding to particular features presented in each historical period. Three axes of analysis for the study of subjectivity are identified which are the knowledge, the power and the truth. Each one of them, use individual methodologies to approach subjectivity, it’s how they use archeology, genealogy and ontology respectively. In this paper an exploration of the concept of subjectivity is developed according to the work of Michel Foucault in order to find a methodology for the study and research of subjectivity as a concept with vital importance for addressing social and cultural phenomena. First, it describes dynamics related to knowledge and truthful games. In a second time, dynamics related to power are described, as well as the forces that are involved in the provision of a particular ordering of the experience. Finally in the third moment, it gives way to the concept of truth in relation to the subjective constitution, the relationship between power and knowledge games as systems of order and truth, as and effect of them, this is how it’s been spoken about the focal point of experience as a unit and element of analysis.
