abstract

  • Technologies change companies. Although each industry has a number of different productive and operational processes, finances will always be the vital basis for them to continue standing. A company with disorganized finances or even without a good record of these will have many problems that it will have to face, and it is most likely that it will not be able to overcome them and end up closing or going bankrupt. Although, when talking about finances, a wide variety of topics would practically be addressed, one of the first to be studied, and which is very important to understand the business, is the financing structure, and how the company raises resources with the objective of continuing to exercise its economic reason. This particular financial area has also been touched by business innovation. Through Fintech, or Financial Technologies, the sources of financing and resource collection have been much more democratized than before. This great development has made the movement of resources easier, more agile and without intermediaries. However, the market segment that has genuinely benefited the most from these technologies has been the small and medium-sized business sector. This work seeks to answer the following question: How have small and medium-sized companies in the city of Bogotá benefited in their financing sources thanks to the financial technologies that have emerged due to the different innovation and development processes?
