Rosa Elvira, a tribute to Rosa Elvira Cely. Bogotá, May 24, 2012. Rosa Elvira Cely, a candy seller and night high school student, is found raped and tortured in the national park. Her case is archived along with that of hundreds of women who are daily abused in Colombia. Based on real events, this staging is a tribute to her and to every women who suffered and perished in impunity prior to the approval of Law 1761 of 2015. With music by Marta Gomez, Maria Isabel Murillo, Laura Kalop and Camila Gallardo (all Latin American women), this musical seeks to raise the voice of those who are no longer here today and touch the heart of every person who is willing to listen to what a group of students passionate about art and social justice have to say.
