Thesis
Culture is a dynamic phenomenon necessary for human evolution. Without the changes generated in the environment by the wheel of life that exerts pressure for human beings to adapt to new forms, we would still be in caves, struggling for mere survival. As Freud showed in 1930, in order to progress, culture relies on the human condition and that pressure causes our being to rejoice at times, but to grieve and suffer at other times. Such is the price of living. With liquid modernity, what we sensed in the past as durable has become ephemeral, enough has become precarious, and the eternal temporary, we are more than ever affected by anxiety in the face of news, by what is the latest news that will go out of fashion shortly, to know the latest trend or viral product on the networks, and we forget the pleasure of the here and now. In his text The Liquid World, Bauman affirms that we are used to a fast time, sure that things will not last long, that new opportunities will appear which will devalue the existing ones. This anxious time and constant fears of uncertainty, influences our identity and how we perceive ourselves in a changing and permanently dissatisfied society. This piece of musical theater addresses Youth Existentialism, exposing the mental labyrinths of a young contemporary trapped between his desires and the demands of contemporary society and culture immersed in digital modernity.
