abstract

  • At a global level, the issue of environmental pollution and the social impact that is generated with the daily activities of society, in particular with those that are part of the productive and industrial sectors, are constantly being covered. As the years have passed and the actions of the industry together with its environmental impact have been increasing, likewise, the number of new technological developments and innovations that have helped to reduce said impact, has grown. is considered sufficient. One of the different industries that has a great impact on the environmental impact generated by its production processes is the cement factory, since, due to the complexity of its activities, it creates a quantity of polluting material that, if not controlled, can become very toxic. Both for the environment itself and for the community where the production factories are located. Mexico is a country with a highly advanced cement and construction industry led mainly by the LafargeHolcim group, which is one of the most influential companies worldwide in this sector. Due to the discussions regarding the social and environmental impact of the industries, governments have taken it upon themselves to improve the types of regulations and care that help mitigate the possible damages that they may cause. On the other hand, the same industry organizations have also done their part to meet these demands and even more to create and develop new technologies and processes with a more sustainable development, Holcim being part of this group of companies. In the following work, a detailed study of the processes, regulations and technologies applied by Holcim and the contributions that this brings to the environment and Mexican society will be carried out.
