In this research, I intend to point out the place of the tradition of Western political thought within Arendt's reading of the totalitarianism. I am interested in analyzing, in the first place, how the resources inherited by tradition are insufficient when reading the singularity represented by this new form of government. And, secondly, what are the reasons that, according with Arendt, links totalitarianism with the way in which this tradition has read the phenomenon of politics.
