abstract

  • In today's knowledge society universities are responsible (more than other organizations) for generating knowledge and innovations to offer new solutions to community problems deemed of interest. I order to achieve this; universities should focus on their most important asset, its intellectual capital. So far, investigations related to intellectual capital and innovation in universities are limited despite being a strategic element for the direction of higher education organizations. Since these aspects will represent value over time, this research seeks to establish what the relationship between intellectual capital and innovation is at CES University. The methodology was carried out through a quantitative study, descriptive and explanatory, with a transverse design, which allowed establishing relationships between intellectual capital and innovation at CES University. The population was managers, leaders of research groups and research coordinators of CES University. The main contribution of this study was to provide evidence of intellectual capital as a major source of innovation for the University. According to the results, this study found that intellectual capital has no statistically significant relationship with the personal innovation of the University CES and determined that the three dimensions of intellectual capital have a statistically significant relationship with the results of innovation in CES University.
