This case-study aims to analyze how the refugee reception by New Zealand, works as a tool of soft power creating benefits for the State. New Zealand's intrinsic difficulties have had function as an engine to the country, generating strategies like refugee reception, contributing mainly to its soft power, power which New Zealand will use to achieve international standing and international projection. Refugee reception will also prove a national interest that will be focus not only in obtaining political benefits, but economic and demographic benefits as well.
