abstract

  • Femur fractures represent one of the most frequent musculoskeletal injuries of the lower limbs in the pediatric population. They occur, mainly by high-energy mechanisms, likewise, they can indicate in certain age groups, child abuse. For this reason, it is essential to know its incidence, the characteristics of the trauma and fracture mechanism, as well as its therapeutic approach according to age. In our country, there is no extensive literature on this pathology, so it is intended to externalize the age distribution, the mechanisms of trauma that mainly occur and the focused treatments that are indicated in the “Subred Integrada de Servicios de Salud Suroccidente”, between the years 2016-2019.
