Fashion surrounds all spaces of today's society. Industrial processes, consumption and the body are some of the edges that intermingle to talk about this. Due to the above, a bibliographic balance was made in which it was explored, from the academic point of view, how Latin American fashion has been approached, specifically in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico; in which Simmel's theoretical views with imitation-distinction; Bourdieu with the campus and male domination; and Gilda de Mello e Souza with the sociology of fashion in Brazil set a pattern in the observation. Regarding the methodological part, the researchers prioritized the qualitative part in their studies. Likewise, it was evidenced that this field of knowledge has not been a topic of common sociological interest or advanced research in Latin America; however, it was possible to observe that the interdisciplinarity of this topic helps to delve into economic, political and cultural aspects. Therefore, although fashion represents the social changes that occur in a given context, there is a great debt to the rigorous investigation of this subject
