The closure of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in 1999 did not have a formal dismissal of its workers. This thesis studies the construction of discursive and action repertoires generated among the workers in response to the closure of hospital services. With a procedural approach, we will examine what was the approach of the Political Opportunities Structure (POS) and the consequent strategies that have been implemented by workers for more than a decade and a half. Among the repertoires set in motion is the defense of the hospital as a National Heritage, health as a fundamental right, up to the violation of the right to work. For the different groups of workers, the repertoires overlap, intersect and combine individual and collective actions.
