  • In the year 2011, we reached the number of 7 billion people in the world. This number is the reason of a big concern since more than 50% are considered to be living in poverty. That means that the people who live under these conditions have no access to basic products or services to attend to their basic needs, because they cannot afford them. This situation of poverty in which live more than half of the world population, calls for discussion of opportunities to enter this market through business initiatives where these people are included as producers, distributors or as consumers being part of a fair trade commerce that consolidates a win-win relationship between the company and its employees, since it makes sure these people receive a fair salary for their jobsThis thesis will address the following topics BOP, basic needs and Millennium Development Goals, the openness to the social conditions in which they operate Inclusive Business, concluding with a case study of the company and its Factoria Quinoa social, economic and environmental impact of their operations.
