abstract

  • This work explores how the radio stations Radioacktiva and Radiónica, the only two rock radio stations in Bogotá with F.M. frequency, made the journalistic coverage of Rock al Parque festival through the Twitter social network. Using the Agenda-setting theory, a content analysis of all the tweets published during the days of the festival, one day before and one day after was made to describe the formal aspects of the coverage as well as the media agenda proposed by the stations. The results showed that, first, the broadcasters proposed an unidirectional agenda without taking into account the audience. Second, it was found that broadcasters did not make an exhaustive coverage of the festival through the social network, but focused more on promoting the media. Finally, a question is opened about how music journalism is practiced today and if it is focused more on the commercialization of the medium.
