Introduction: Telepsychiatry has been implemented for thirty years, initially designed to facilitate the follow-up of patients in rural areas, but due to Covid-19 it has been implemented to continue patient follow-up. One advantage is that the mental exam can be done virtually. However, there are no studies on patient satisfaction with this modality in Colombia, and it is necessary to describe their perception regarding the quality and accessibility of this service. Methodology: A 7-month cohort to which a telephone survey was applied at the beginning and at the end of follow-up to 264 patients, and a single self-administered survey of psychiatrists evaluating satisfaction and adherence. Results: The satisfaction measured with a Likert-type scale shows that in the first moment the maximum qualification had 76.5% while in the second measurement it decreased to 66.5%. Adherence was measured by 4 items; follow-up appointments, emergency consultations, hospitalization in a mental health unit and claiming medications, of which the last one with only 76% was the lowest measure, since the other three had a score greater than 90%. Most patients prefer and recommend this program. On the other hand, the psychiatrists surveyed reflect a low level of acceptability in general. Discussion: The results between patients and psychiatrists are contradictory, given that the former report high satisfaction and the latter do not, for which new studies with a larger sample of psychiatrists are required.
