The following paper makes an exploration of the possible relationship between psychosis and the creative process, taking the psychoanalytic theory as reference, with the intention to confirm this hypothesis in the analysis of specific cases. Based on a bibliographic review of the concepts “psychosis”, “sublimation” and “creativity”, this text approaches the Outsider Art theory from a psychodynamic model, highlighting issues related to the work of certain artists with the concepts reviewed.
