abstract

  • This project aims to identify the concepts of health, disease, epidemiology and risk applicable to crude oil mining and natural gas companies in Colombia. Given the low level of prediction and failure of traditional financial analysis in terms of investing and making long-term decisions, as well as not consider variables such as risk and future expectations, is necessary to address different perspectives and integrative models. This assessment is relevant within the sector of oil and natural gas, due to increasing foreign investment which has reported U.S. $ 2,862 million in 2010, a figure ten times greater than its value in 2003. Thus, it could develop multi-dimensional models, based on financial health, epidemiological and statistical concepts. The concept of health and its adoption in the corporate sector, it is useful and maintains a conceptual coherence, showing the presence of different subsystems or interacting and interconnected factors. It is also necessary to mention that a multidimensional model (multi-stage) must take into account the risk and epidemiological analysis has proven to be useful when determine and integrate it into the system along with other concepts, such as odds risk and relative risk. This will be analyzed using a theoretical-conceptual study, which complements a previous one to contribute to the corporate finance project of research line in Management.
