This work investigates the way in which the newspaper El Tiempo represented the indigenous people of Arhuaco during the period 1990-2004. Through the quantitative methodology, the work evaluates the representation constructed in 116 publications based on the categorization of the topics related to this community and the evolution over time of the main characteristics of the notes, the referenced sources and the content generated in the informative pieces. The research is postulated as a contribution to studies on ethnic journalism in Colombia and as a reflection on the role of interdisciplinarity in the training of journalists and on the inclusion of minority populations in the construction of information.
