Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide, followed by hypertensive disorders and maternal death from infectious causes. Even though risk factors for developing it have been described, in almost 50% of the patients diagnosed with the condition, it was not possible to identify any of them.
